An ecologically sensitive grassland restoration project
A build-up of unusually thick vegetation had reduced the bio-diversity of a former grassland in Dorset's National Landscape (previously known as Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty). Our brief was to apply a sustainable, ecologically sensitive approach, to realise a more open mosaic of grassland and wildflowers with the planting of oak saplings.

Landscaping site assessments for a renewable energy company
We perform site assessments for one the largest developers of flexible generation, energy storage projects and solar farms in the UK, allowing more reliance on green renewable power generation.
A sympathetically designed oak-framed barn created in a National Park
We were commissioned to design and construct an oak-framed barn to be used as a garage and storage in the New Forest National Park.
The client's brief was that the new barn should blend seamlessly with the original barn buildings that it was built adjacent to, and also the surrounding landscape.

We managed the project at every step: creating a sympathetic barn design appropriate to the original barn, the planning application, groundworks and drainage, and finally the build and construction. We delivered the project within budget and the allocated time-frame, despite facing variable weather conditions.

The completed barn was then planted with mixed perennials such as lilac and camelias.

An inspiring garden playground designed to encourage children to learn and play
We were commissioned to design, build and plant a garden play area for a school.

The brief was to create an inspiring green space that would encourage children to learn and play.

We created a sensory space of mixed perennials, magnolia, cherry and plants selected for their scent and plants that children can touch the leaves, as well as plants that have all year round interest and
We selected a Trachelospermum jasminoides to plant as a perimeter hedge - which is also known as star jasmine. This evergreen climbing plant is valued for its highly fragrant, white, star-shaped flowers and glossy, dark green leaves that may turn bronze in winter, and was the perfect choice for covering the perimeter fence of the school.

Creating a multi-functional space for a private estate
The brief from this high-net worth client was to design and landscape their outside space to not only create a beautiful garden with all year round interest, but that would also function as an entertainment space for parties, family gatherings, and even cricket matches!
This building is listed under the Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act as amended for its special architectural or historic interest, and so we took into consideration that our designs and planting plans were sympathetic and appropriate to the design and heritage of the building.
For the garden we designed and constructed parterres to add structure and formality, whilst planting perennial borders for all year round interest. We planted pleached trees - Carpinus betulus or 'hornbeam'
- to create 'rooms' within the garden which stretched over several acres.

We also built a cricket pitch and cricket pavilion from scratch, which involved excavating and moving several tonnes of earth, building retaining walls and creating turfed slopes and terraces.
The finished result was a multi-functional outdoor entertainment space, that served not only as a garden, but would entertain family and friends for many years to come.

Communal garden for award-winning
architecturally designed building
We are honoured to have designed, planted and maintained the outdoor communal garden for this iconic landmark building for over ten years, despite the contract regularly going out to tender to our competitors during this time.
The architects Foster + Partners are a global studio for sustainable architecture, urbanism, engineering and design and have won multiple awards for this modern mixed-use building and many others.
The building overlooks open water and the environmental challenges for managing the garden can be gusty winds and salty air which a lot of plants dislike. Our planting scheme includes ferns and grasses and to reflect the clean architectural lines of the building, we have included sculpted buxus (topiary) and smooth open expanses of carefully manicured grass lawn.

An award-winning communal garden
Since 2012, we have designed, planted and maintained a communal garden that has won horticultural awards and provides a much-loved green space for the residents of a busy London borough to enjoy.
The garden has a variety of trees, shrubs and flowers and includes a children's playground and water feature sculpture. The residents organise film nights and concerts during the summer months in order to enjoy the garden at it's best.

A vibrant courtyard garden oasis - in the shade
We design, plant and maintain a communal courtyard garden for a high-end residential & office building in the heart of London's legal district, Holborn and Chancery Lane.
The environmental challenge is the almost total absence of sunlight reaching the garden, due to height of the surrounding buildings.
By selecting shade-tolerant plants and ferns, and with careful ongoing maintenance, we have been able to create a garden oasis despite the environmental and situational challenges of the location.

We aways take into account specific environmental factors of each location and create tailored planting and maintenance plans for each project to ensure our gardens can thrive and flourish.
